This cookware set really exceeded expectations. The tri-layer stainless steel construction feels solid and well-balanced — not overly heavy, but definitely not flimsy either. It heats very evenly across the surface, which makes a noticeable difference when cooking things like sauces or searing meat. I haven’t had any issues with hot spots, and everything cooks consistently.
One of my favorite features is how compact and stackable the entire set is. All the pieces nest neatly together, which saves a ton of cabinet space, especially in a smaller kitchen. The finish is smooth and polished, and it still looks great after multiple uses and washes.
The silicone-wrapped handles are a nice touch — they stay cool while cooking and give a really comfortable, secure grip. The lids fit snugly, helping retain heat and moisture. Overall, this set feels thoughtfully designed and very practical for everyday cooking while still looking clean and modern.
I now have several products from Living in a Bubble: front cab window covers (Transit), the nesting pots and pans, plus kettle, and a wall storage pocket. All of the products are well-made, fit perfectly, look beautiful, and are so easy to use. The purchasing process with LiaB is so smooth and the delivery was quick. Will definitely order more products in the future!
Cookset is a great quality product! I can't wait to get out and use it. Thanks Living in a Bubble. Please consider more VW westy items.
This set of stainless cookware is really nice! I like the brands vision about outdoors, camping, ect and their passion for that translates into the cookware. For $100, the quality is a great value. The set offers a variety of sizes, suitable for most everything. Since it is stainless, with proper care they should last you a long time. They are easy to use and easy to clean, assuming you know how to properly cook on them to prevent any sticking. If you are in need of a stainless set for the home or outdoor adventures, I can recommend this one.
Here's my honest take as someone who's been car camping, van life tripping, and doing multi-day overland stuff for the last several years. I've burned through more cheap nesting sets than I care to admit... mostly the thin aluminum ones that warp on the first hot fire and the rattling tin-can stainless sets that drive you insane on washboard roads.
I picked up this Stainless Steel Cooking Set at the beginning of the winter after seeing it marketed specifically to van lifers (tri-layer bonded stainless, ergonomic silicone-sleeved handles, super compact stacking, and those little felt trivets). I was tired of noisy gear and wanted something that felt like real kitchen pots instead of "camping toys."
What actually impressed me:
- The tri-layer construction (stainless-aluminum-stainless) is legit. Heats way more evenly than my old single-layer stainless or aluminum sets. No scorching hot spots when simmering pasta sauce on the camp stove or even when I had it over uneven coals one night. That's huge when you're trying to make something better than just-add-water meals.
- Stacking is stupidly good. Everything nests perfectly tight... no gaps that let things shift. The fold-down pan handle is a nice touch; it doesn't poke into everything else. Fits in the weird narrow cabinet under my sink like it was custom-made for it.
- The silicone-sleeved handles stay surprisingly cool even when things are ripping on the stove. I still use a towel sometimes out of habit, but I haven't burned my fingers once. The silicone feels grippy when wet too, which happens a lot in camp.
- Quiet on the road. Those included felt pads/trivets? Genius. Zero metallic clanging when driving forest service roads. My previous set sounded like a damn maraca every time I hit a bump. This one is almost dead silent.
Where it's not perfect (real talk):
- Weight is heavier than ultralight backpacking sets (obviously!... it's full tri-ply stainless). If you're carrying it more than a short distance from van to picnic table, you'll notice. It's built for vehicle-based camping, not 10-mile hikes.
- Stainless steel gonna stainless: food sticks if you don't preheat properly or use enough oil. I scorched eggs the first morning because I forgot how stainless behaves compared to my nonstick home pans. Once I got the technique back (hot pan + fat + patience), it was fine, but cleanup takes a little more elbow grease than nonstick camping gear. Bar Keepers Friend is my camp best friend now.
- Price is premium. It's not cheap, and you could get a decent MSR or GSI nesting set for half the money. But those usually rattle, have thinner bottoms, and feel flimsier after a season or two.
Bottom line: If you're doing mostly car/van camping, want cookware that performs like your home kitchen pots, and are sick of noisy, cheap-feeling gear, this set is worth it. It's the first camping cookware I've owned that doesn't make me feel like I'm compromising every time I cook. I've used it on 4 trips so far (including one 3-week van loop) and it's still looking brand new... no warping, no loose handles, no regrets.
Would I buy it again? Yeah, in a heartbeat. But only if your camping style is VEHICLE-BASED and you value quiet storage + even heating over saving 60 bucks and dealing with the usual compromises. If you're backpacking or on a tight budget, look elsewhere (Stanley or MSR probably). For van life kitchen warriors though? Solid upgrade. 8.5/10 from this jaded camper.
